This portion of the blog is dedicated to explaining the different organizations that LMCC will be donating a portion of the profits to. Each month we will choose a different charity to donate to, and you can come here for updates!
This month, we will be working with the World Central Kitchen (WCK). WCK is a not-for-profit non-government organization whose mission is to provide meals for those who struggle during both natural and man-made disasters. The organization was Founded by Jose Andres and his wife Patricia 10 years ago. The work that WCK does ranges from serving children in shelters along the Mexican border to delivering meals to those watching over the beaches in Indonesia. They also made a significant impact on those who were impacted by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. The goal of WCK is to make an impact on the whole world by providing meals and they are doing just that!
Not only do they make an impact for those who struggle during national disasters, they also make an impact on the future of the food industry through different initiatives. On their mission page, Jose said, “our clean cookstoves initiatives, culinary training programs, and social enterprise ventures that empower communities and strengthen economies.” By making an emphasis on the future generation, they are helping to build confidence and skills for future chefs around the world.
Due to COVID-19, LMCC thought it would be the perfect time to donate to a company whose main focus right now is to distribute paper-packed, freshly made meals to communities across America who are struggling due to the pandemic. Each day, WCK provides over 150,000 fresh made meals each day! This is an amazing impact that is being made on our communities and by being apart of LMCC you are not only investing in great cookies, you are also investing in helping feel people across the country who are not as fortunate in terms of having meals each day. Be a part of the change and become a LOUD MOUTH!
